Proposal to Review Admission Catchment Arrangements at Linlithgow Primary Schools

West Lothian Council Education Executive agreed the proposal on 17 January 2023.

Proposal

West Lothian Council agreed, on 22 June 2021, to undertake formal consultation on the proposal to review admission arrangements in the school catchment areas of Linlithgow Primary School, Linlithgow Bridge Primary School, Springfield Primary School, Lowport Primary School and Boghall Primary School.


Statutory Consultation

In terms of the Schools (Consultation)(Scotland) Act 2010 (the Act), any proposed changes to a school estate in this case relocation of an education establishment, requires Statutory Public Consultation.

The Consultation involves the parents/carers/children and staff of Linlithgow Primary School, Linlithgow Bridge Primary School, Springfield Primary School, Lowport Primary School and Boghall Primary School, as well as all other key stakeholders associated with the schools and statutory consultees as detailed in Schedule 2 of the Act.

Consultation Period

The Consultation period has now closed.  This timescale adhered to the statutory consultation period for such circumstances which is a minimum of 6 consecutive weeks and include at least 30 school days.
